Pathways to diagnostics trailblazer

This programme has been funded by the Government and has been set up to support local residents in the Tendring District find job opportunities within the Tendring District.

At Clacton Hospital we are in the process of building a Community Diagnostics Centre where we will have services such as Medical Imaging (x-ray, CT, MRI etc.), Endoscopy (colonoscopy, gastroscopy, endoscopy etc.), Pathology (COVID samples, the labs etc.) and Phlebotomy (blood taking). This means our patients that live in Clacton won’t need to travel to Colchester Hospital for every aspect of their treatment creating a better experience for them. This is also the area we would like to help staff with local residents, giving Clacton Hospital a real community feel.

Our programme consists of 2 avenues, non-clinical and clinical. Non-clinical roles are admin based roles or roles that do not require direct patient care/contact. Clinical roles are roles such as Health Care Assistants or roles that do require direct patient contact.

For all candidates interested in non-clinical roles we would conduct an informal interview, just to get to know you better, and if we think this programme is suitable for you we would then look to work with our HR Recruitment team at the hospital and offer you a guaranteed job interview from our list of current job vacancies. The process of informal interview with us to formal job interview with the areas could be as quick as a couple of weeks.

For all candidates interested in clinical roles we would conduct an informal interview, just to get to know you better, and if we think this programme is suitable for you we would then move you forward to the next step. The next step would be a week long introduction to the programme in the form of 5 masterclasses covering all the different areas of Diagnostics and then a 6 week rotational work placement in each of the different areas. The placement will be 2 days a week and you will be supported by our team and a buddy in the areas. Once this is complete we will then work with our HR Recruitment team to get you a guaranteed job interview from our list of current job vacancies. Candidates from all backgrounds with every range of experience are welcome.
