Next Generation

In the health and care sector, your career choices extend far beyond just being a Doctor or a Nurse…

This is one of the messages that the Next Generation project promotes, whilst showcasing all of the fantastic career opportunities and pathways within the sector. Funded by Suffolk and North East Essex ICS and working with a variety of stakeholders, Next Generation aims to highlight the various career pathways, and increase recruitment, within the health and care sector in the region.

Health and Care Ambassadors

Having delivered an integrated Ambassador programme to cover Suffolk and North East Essex, the project works with its Ambassadors (most of whom themselves have worked, or currently work, within the sector) to engage students and aspiring students by offering a valuable insight into what working within health and care might be like. This could be through meetings with students, or in the form of presentations, group activities, lessons, assemblies in schools as well as Health and Care Academies. With the aim of demonstrating the variety of options available to those who are interested in a career in health and care.

As the majority of the Next Generation Ambassadors have first-hand (and current) experience of working within health and/or care settings within the local area, they are perfectly situated to represent the project and convey what it is really like to work in the sector, sharing their knowledge and expertise with individuals of all backgrounds and ages.
